I restarted this blog 6 months ago. Today I re-restart it. The truth is I’m not entirely sure why anyone would want to read this besides my mother and she doesn’t know how to find my blog.
I get it. I will be a published author (someday) and I need to promote myself so I might as well start now. Let – people, potential agents, future readers, my best friend – experience a taste of my writing style. That’s all well and good but I think I’ve done this mostly to have my own, personal, URL. It’s pretty cool to have laurahazan.com. Like being a celebrity without any fans!
I’m also about 10 years behind in the blog craze. Everyone else has moved on to podcasts and whatever other hip thing the cool kids are doing these days. What I need to figure out is what the next next big thing is going to be and start that now.
While I think on that I’ll re-inaugurate this dinosaur. Inspired entirely by the start of my Highlandtown (Baltimore, MD) Writer-in-Residence. Read about my residency in this interview.
As of October 1, 2019 I will be loitering at businesses, cafes and the library in Highlandtown writing my heart out. My big plan is start a second novel but I will also use this opportunity to promote Highlandtown, my patron Yellow Arrow Publishing, and myself through this blog.
Write on!
